Congresswoman Val Demings Holds Town Halls in Apopka and Pine Hills
ORLANDO, FL- Last week Congresswoman Val Demings, Florida's 10th Congressional District, held two town hall events in Apopka and Pine Hills, Florida. The central topics discussed were the Affordable Care Act, the Syrian conflict, economic development, education and neighborhood security in Florida's 10th District.
"It's so important hearing from all of my constituents about the issues happening in our community," said Rep. Demings. "Too often politicans do a lot of talking and not enough listening. Since being sworn into Congress, I have done my best to listen to the people I represent."
There were about 150 people in attendance at the Pine Hills town hall at the Pine Hills Community Center on Wednesday, and about 50 at the Apopka town hall at the Apopka Council Chambers on Tuesday.
