Congresswoman Val Demings Calls President Trump's Latest Environmental Executive Order Dangerous

WASHINGTON, D.C.--Congresswoman Val Demings, Florida's 10th Congressional district, released the following statement regarding President Trump's Executive Order which rolls back protections from the Clean Power Plan, passed under the previous administration:

"It's incredibly disappointing to see President Trump take this step to rollback critical environmental protections.

“The President has made another false promise, claiming this Executive Order will help the economy and bring back jobs in struggling communities, but this only promises to do further harm to communities.

“Congress and this Administration has an obligation to protect our environment for the generations to come, and that starts by acknowledging that Climate Change is a real threat and promising to continue to address it."
