House Passes Resolution to Terminate State of Emergency

February 26, 2019
Press Release

ORLANDO, FL – Today, the House of Representatives passed a resolution cosponsored by Rep. Val Demings (FL-10) to immediately terminate President Trump’s state of emergency.

Said Rep. Demings, “This is a test of our republic. The President is not above the law. Congress cannot allow the president to subvert our constitution by using a fake emergency based on ‘alternative facts’ after losing a political debate. I hope that every member of the Senate will recognize that protecting the American people by protecting our constitution is our primary responsibility.”

Rep. Demings’ previous statements can be found here and here.
